Hostel in Porto

Hostels Chain asked us to make some proposals for Hostels in Barcelona and Porto.

The proposal is a very straight forward yet effective scheme: a small entrance in ground floor, as many needed bedroom floors on top of it and the common services on top, taking advantage of the views.

In porto the building is a very promintent building where we used all existing facades acomodating the services in the central dark area and the bedrooms in the perimeter, with several dispositions. The top floor has still to be developed but will have a resting room, a small kitchen and some video screens. We imagine a black box in the middle for all the media and several room arround taking profit of the terrace and views.

This project is part of the "oac" family with Ave Maria Hall and OAC Girona. In first one, counters were the main part, in the second one tables became the most prominent part and in this third one closets became the space definers.

OAC Girona

I went this weekend to see the office finished and working.

It works at full capacity now (we still don't have the figures, we'll let you know) and has all the left details (socles, plants furniture...).

Here some images I took. They are a little bit missleading in terms of feeling (it's a very calm space) but I think they'll be useful to understand a little bit more the space.
